1 背景及起源

CooCox隶属于全球领先的电子元器件分销商英国派睿（Premier Farnell）集团，是派睿旗下独立的开发工具品牌。CooCox的人员组织、知识产权均归属于派睿。

派睿于2011年底收购了CooCox和英蓓特信息技术有限公司，并整合成一家公司：英蓓特科技。

CooCox 起源于武汉理工大学 UP Team 的研究项目，至今仍有武汉理工的老师和学生参与。

CooCox 品牌名称的含义是 Cooperate on Cortex。

自2009年成立之日起，CooCox 团队就一直致力于为用户提供免费和开源的 ARM 开发工具，专注于ARM Cortex M 系列的开发。目前 CooCox 工具已支持大部分主流Cortex M3和M0芯片，不久还将支持Cortex M4芯片。

3 发展现状

由于功能的日益完善，CoFans的口口相传，CooCox工具得到了越来越多的嵌入式开发爱好者的青睐。2011年直接从CooCox官网下载CooCox软件的独立IP就达到了27760，上周（2012.2.20~2012.2.26）访问 CooCox 官方网站的独立IP也增加到了7883。

目前，CooCox用户遍布全球，德国、美国、日本、意大利、泰国均有分布。2011年第四季度，欧洲用户数更是反超了亚洲的用户数，一跃成为CooCox用户最多的洲。

4 特色及理念

使用CooCox开发工具，你不可不知的一个概念是“组件”。

CooCox把所有的启动代码、外围库、驱动、OS等抽象为一个个组件（components），再搭配相应的例程（examples）。事实上，从广义上讲，包括例程在内的所有可复用的源代码均可称为组件。

这样一来就大大简化和加速了开发，让嵌入式开发如同“搭积木”一般简单。

CooCox正在打造一个汇聚全球行业专家、业余爱好者、半导体厂商的平台。平台不仅可供自由交流分享，还要集中丰富的可复用源码及文档资源。

截至2012年2月10日，CooCox平台已支持253种芯片的349个组件和302个例程，还有现成的应用方案，均可免费下载。

Dual LPC1114 barebone testing notes

Now I am testing another LPC1114 barebone.  I am replacing the more expensive (HKD150+) CooCox Eval Board by the HKD32 Magic Blue LPC1114 barebone.

I found one thing surprising.  I replaced the Bafo USB to 12V RS232 adapter from the USB hub and moved up the USB to 5V UART adapter, which I found not working anymore.  Then I found that the COMx number is position dependent.  The same adapter in slot 3 is COM27, but becomes COM26 in slot 2.  Luckily I have gathered enough troubleshooting experience with Flash Magic, so it took me only two minutes to debug.
