It took me about 5 hours to find out the most critical cause of the autobaud failure problem - the first USB to serial cable is not compatible to Flash Magic. I changed another cable and the autobaud problem immediately disappeared!
Before I forgot, I noted the hardware and software configuration that works.
1. USB to serial cable driver
* Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM12)
* Driver provider - Prolific
* Driver date - 27.10/2008
* Driver version - 3.3.2.105
* Digital signature - Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
* 9600 baud, 8 data bit, no parity bit, 1 stop bit (8N1)
* flow control - NONE
* Use FIFO buffer - receive buffer highest (14), send buffer highest (16)
2. Flash Magic
Select LPC1114/102
COM port 12
Baud reate 9600
Interface - None(ISP)
Verify after programming
Advanced options - ALL no check
3. LPC1114FN28
Device signature - 1A40902B
Boot loader version - 7.1
.END

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your explanation but could you please share what cable you used instead of a USB to serial?
Thanks,
Theo
